Kara Schwaebe

President

Kara Schwaebe is an accomplished industry leader with 20 years of experience in environment, land, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement. Kara has led and managed the development of major pipeline, power transmission, and renewable energy projects across North America. She has a proven track record of successfully navigating projects through stakeholder engagement, land acquisition, routing and siting, environmental assessment, regulatory approval, construction monitoring & compliance, and reclamation. Kara is recognized for her decisive and progressive approach to risk management and project execution.

As Canacre’s President, Kara is responsible for leading, developing, and maintaining all procedures, service standards, and quality management across the industries that Canacre services. She empowers Canacre’s various service teams to create and implement internal operational strategies to ensure project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and exceed our clients’ expectations. Kara is dedicated to building a diverse team and creating opportunities for Canacre employees to grow and become leaders in their respective fields.

Dan Stephen

CA, CPA, CIA, Sr. Director, Finance and Administration

Dan Stephen is a highly accomplished, hands-on, results-driven senior accounting and financial professional with more than 30 years of progressive experience in finance and operations management in public and private organizations. Throughout his career, Dan has been instrumental in establishing and streamlining business operations that drive strategic growth and create efficiency.

Dan brings a wealth of experience to Canacre from the construction and consulting industry, particularly in developing and implementing financial controls and processes in alignment with productivity improvements and change management. Dan possesses broad-based management skills with solid planning, communication, organizational, team building, coaching, and decision-making skills.

Tim Rallis

MSA, MBA, Vice President, Business Development

Tim Rallis has established himself as a leader in energy and infrastructure development services in North America. Tim has successfully managed multiple large-scale infrastructure projects for transmission, renewable energy, energy storage, and transportation projects. As Canacre’s Vice President, Business Development he is responsible for providing Canacre’s clients with expert advice in relation to project siting, greenfield development, stakeholder engagement, and land acquisition strategies in North America.

Tim’s comprehensive experience in business development, project management, and development services provide him with the ability to anticipate the demands of energy and infrastructure projects. This has been instrumental in Canacre’s ability to provide competitive and innovative services across multiple industries. Tim has led the research and development of several of Canacre’s pioneering service offerings and has overseen complex project implementations to ensure our systems work as efficiently as possible for our clients’ projects.

Sandra Arredondo

MA, SVP, Human Resources and Administration

Sandra Arredondo is the Sr. Vice President of HR & Administration at HBK Engineering, a Quanta Services company. She is responsible for a broad range of functional support areas including Human Resources, Information Technology, Finance, Community Relations, Marketing, Safety, and Facilities. In her role, she also leads Canacre’s Human Resources team across the United States and Canada, enhancing the collaboration between these Quanta companies.

Bringing over 25 years of HR leadership experience, Sandra excels in integrating employee populations and human resource functions following large-scale mergers and acquisitions. She has lent her expertise to prominent organizations such as GE, NBC, and Tribune Media. Sandra joined HBK Engineering in January 2016 as a consultant and swiftly established herself as a pivotal leader. Her vision of fostering strong synergy between functional support areas has greatly increased value and efficiencies within HBK’s workforce of over 700 employees. Sandra holds a Master’s degree in Labor & Industrial Relations and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois, Urbana. She also lends her knowledge and skills to the community by serving on the board of ABC Pilsen in Chicago. Her commitment to enhancing organizational efficiency and her profound understanding of HR dynamics make her a key player in the infrastructure solutions industry.

Maren Coligan

M.S., REM, CSEM, VP, Operations

Maren brings over 20 years of experience in environmental management, regulatory interpretation, and compliance across multiple industries. With a strong background in environmental management systems, environmental compliance, environmental auditing, incident investigation & reporting, permitting, and emergency response, Maren is a seasoned professional in her field. Maren holds a Master of Science in Coastal Ecology from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi and a Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology from Southwestern College of Kansas. She is a Registered Environmental Manager, a Certified Safety and Emergency Response Manager, and a Radiation Safety Officer in Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico. Before joining Canacre, Maren served as the Sr. Environmental and Quality Manager at Quanta Services, where she worked under the Environmental Management System and developed the Quality Management System for projects enterprise-wide. She also served as an Environmental Director at Key Energy Services, managing a team of internal environmental specialists responsible for environmental remediation, permitting, compliance, and agency interactions. At Canacre, Maren oversees all aspects of quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) management, ensuring that our projects not only meet but exceed regulatory standards. She is responsible for developing and implementing QHSE policies, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement across all our operations. Maren works closely with our project teams to ensure that QHSE considerations are integrated into every stage of our infrastructure projects, from site selection to construction.

Megan Breitner

RPP, MCIP, PMP, Vice President, Land and ROW

Megan Breitner is a highly respected consultant and skilled leader, with a reputation as a trusted advisor who is passionate about project management and execution. Megan is a results-driven professional with experience leading large-scale infrastructure and right-of-way projects in the transmission, oil and gas, renewable energy and transportation sectors across the United States and Canada. Megan has a comprehensive knowledge of regulatory frameworks and has successfully completed land and permitting processes in complex jurisdictions and consultation environments. Her invaluable experience, expertise, diverse professional services background, and network of industry contacts have been a significant asset internally and to Canacre's partners. As Vice President, Project Execution, Megan oversees project delivery and project controls across Canacre’s portfolio of right-of-way, energy, and transportation projects in North America. She leverages her designations as a Registered Professional Planner, Project Management Professional, and her Master’s degree in Resource and Environmental Management as a foundation for applying comprehensive solutions to project challenges. Canacre’s team members and clients have recognized Megan as person to emulate, a passionate leader on projects and within the community.

Shawn Martin

B.Sc., P.Biol., R.P.Bio., Vice President, Environment

Shawn Martin is a seasoned environmental professional with over 25 years of experience in environmental consulting, focused on the technical aspects of environmental assessment, project and program delivery, and client account management. Shawn is a trusted and respected leader of environmental teams supporting the development of major infrastructure projects across a diverse range of industries and geographies. Throughout his career Shawn has been involved in some of the industry’s largest, most complex projects and has led technical components of environmental deliverables for the construction, decommissioning and abandonment of projects for federally regulated pipeline companies such as Enbridge, Nova Gas Transmission, and Westcoast. He has also led construction and decommissioning projects for transmission companies including ATCO Electric, AltaLink and Alberta Powerline. On the renewables front, Shawn has led early development stages of projects with the largest power producer in the North America. As Vice President, Environment, Shawn is responsible for fostering Canacre’s internal resources and developing key relationships to effectively execute environmental scope required for infrastructure projects across North America. Shawn is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive team and advancing the principles of Indigenous Truth and Reconciliation.

Mack Dickerson

SR/WA, R/W-RAC, GRI, Vice President, Land and ROW

Mack Dickerson brings an impressive 28 years of experience in the right of way and environmental industry, complemented by an additional 15 years in real estate advisory services. With a wealth of expertise under his belt, Mack has successfully managed and directed a wide range of projects across multiple states, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, and Washington.

Throughout his career, Mack has been involved in various transportation improvements, water and gas transmission and distribution, renewable energy, electric transmission, and telecommunication corridor projects. His extensive knowledge spans complex right of way acquisitions, relocation advisory, title, and asset and property management. With a notable track record, Mack has overseen both public and private infrastructure projects, collaborating with esteemed organizations such as the Federal Highway Administration, Federal Transit Administration, Federal Aviation Authority, National Telecommunications and Information Administration, American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and state and local funds. As a Senior Right of Way Agent and certified Right of Way Relocation Assistance professional designated by the IRWA, Mack ensures projects are completed in strict adherence to industry standards. In his role as Vice President of Right of Way, Mack Dickerson leads major projects, drives strategic initiatives, and cultivates strong relationships with Canacre's project partners throughout the United States and Canada. His expertise and leadership play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients. Mack Dickerson's extensive experience, combined with his dedication to excellence, make him an invaluable asset to our team and a trusted partner for successful project execution.

Land and ROW

Larry Berto

Larry Berto has over 40 years of experience in the real estate industry in several professional capacities. He has led and actively participated in acquiring the real estate requirements for multiple local government and electrical transmission projects, and has successfully negotiated with various stakeholders for leases, easements, licenses, right of ways, full and partial takings, and option rights. At Canacre he has applied this extensive experience to transportation, renewable energy, electrical transmission, and pipeline projects, developing a highly qualified team of negotiation professionals. His perspective and expertise in right of way matters, asset management, government real estate, and property appraisals in addition to being licensed real estate broker, and SR/WA designate enables Larry to provide our team and clients unparalleled advice.

Larry leads our negotiations team with a foundational philosophy that interactions with landowners be undertaken in an open, honest, and respectful manner, with a commitment to timely, meaningful, and transparent dialogue.

Jim Wolff

Jim Wolff has over 15 years of experience in the renewable energy, transmission, and oil and gas industries, having provided regulatory, real estate, and management support on multiple large-scale projects across the US. Prior to joining Canacre, Jim supported infrastructure projects by undertaking curative title services, surface damage settlements, division orders, routing and siting analyses, complex mineral title reports, and resolving difficult right-of-way and leasing matters. At Canacre, Jim leads the land services team, and provides strategic guidance on difficult negotiations and complex title issues for energy and infrastructure projects. Jim's background provides a unique perspective both internally and for Canacre's clients when solving problems and furnishing solutions.

Jim leads our negotiations team with ethics and a firm commitment to timely and transparent communications at the forefront of Canacre’s interactions within the communities where we support our partners’ projects.

Haseeb Amirzada, RPP, MCIP

Haseeb Amirzada has been a member of the Canacre team since 2010, and is a Registered Professional Planner with significant expertise in large-scale multi-property infrastructure projects, land-use planning, real estate development, regulatory approvals, permitting policies and legislation at multiple levels of government. Haseeb leads Canacre’s Planning and Permitting Team in negotiation services related to the acquisition of private and public land rights, and permitting services with multiple federal, state/provincial, and local departments, ministries, municipalities, and public and private agencies across Canada and the United States. He has successfully obtained permits and approvals from all levels of government and authorities having jurisdiction over the development of large-scale energy and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with requirements related to property rights acquisition on federal and provincial crown/unpatented lands, freehold/patented lands, crown non-freehold dispositions, and has undertaken multiple positive municipal and community consultations.

Marie Borre

Marie Borre has been successfully managing teams for almost 20 years, utilizing an outside of the box approach and bringing experiences from other industries to capitalize each team members’ strengths. She believes that communication and relationships are the foundation for any well- run project. With over 3 years on a Georgia Power Program, managing Land Acquisition, Survey, and Stakeholder Engagement, she has effectively closed out her team’s contributions without construction delay. Her teams on both distribution and transmission have been responsible for the coordination between all disciplines, as well as between internal program management. She is Notary Public in Florida and Georgia, an IRWA member, and a candidate real estate licensee in Illinois and reciprocal states.

James DeKryger

James DeKryger is a seasoned Project Director who has been a member of the Canacre team since 2011 gaining valuable experience in transmission, pipeline, and renewable energy projects in the United States and Canada. He has significant experience leading major projects through all stages of development, managing highly complex urban right of way developments, and successfully coordinating with utilities in existing corridors. James employs a systematic and highly organized approach to project management and specializes in leveraging project controls to allow him to successfully manage multiple highly regulated, complex projects and teams concurrently. This detail-oriented approach allows him to provide consistent, agile, and responsive project management that helps clients effectively mitigate project risk.

During his time at Canacre, James has managed the land components of right of way development and construction on over $2 billion dollars of capital infrastructure investment on behalf of our clients. Through this experience, he has gained recognition for his expertise in establishing real time solutions for land acquisition strategy, regulatory filings, data management, project workflows, schedules, and budgets. In addition, he is a highly regarded leader who champions collaborative project management and creating a supportive team environment. James is an active member of the International Right of Way Association (IRWA).

Peggy Dwyer, LREB

Peggy Dwyer is a licensed real estate broker with specialized experience in transmission line corridor and substation acquisition. Her 30 years of experience includes landowner negotiations, community and public relations, property and lease management, surveys, mapping, and GIS services in the state of Maine. She has led multiple projects with New England utilities that include route development and site selection, stakeholder research and negotiation, public outreach, and construction impact mitigation as well as public outreach. Her specific experience identifying impediments to construction, project and security threats, and communicating with stakeholders to negotiate timely resolutions makes her a valuable member of the Project team.

Peggy joined Canacre in October 2020 as a Project Manager and a key team member of our Real Estate team. Peggy’s excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills, as well as knowledge and extensive experience in utility real estate development has enabled her to continuously exceed the expectations of our clients.

Hussain Fadhel, P.Eng., PMP

Hussain Fadhel is a PMP and P.Eng with 12 years of right of way, pipeline construction and maintenance , transmission development, project management and project engineering experience. His experience includes planning the full project scope, schedule, and cost controls on an annual pipeline integrity program comprised of inline inspections, maintenance and repair projects and safety programs.

Hussain has supported transmission line permitting, environmental access rights, federal lands rights, and has assisted construction minded clients move their projects from pre-mobilization into construction by leaning on his formal training as an engineer. Hussain continues to provide informed leadership on projects across North America with well-established infrastructure operators and developers in compliance with industry specifications and both federal and provincial/state regulators.

Adam Fulford

Adam Fulford has been a member of the Canacre team for over 10 years and provides expertise in project management, the development and coordination of strategic negotiation and consultation programs with landowners and land use authorities, as well as aiding clients in siting, designing, and permitting projects. As a Project Director, Adam has a wide range of acquisition, negotiation, consultation, and management experience in industries including renewable energy generation, energy storage, and telecommunication. Adam specializes in strategies for project area analysis, site selection, acquisition, project messaging, complex telecommunications installations, and designing stakeholder consultation programs for Canacre’s clientele. Adam has developed an excellent reputation in the land industry for delivering accurate and efficient services, as well as being able to apply expertise to large and complex projects across industry platforms. He has worked extensively with major carriers on telecommunications projects, providing site acquisition, permitting, consultation, and municipal affairs services for over 450 project sites since 2010. He is a leader who integrates subject matter experts and community stakeholders, streamlining project communications and ultimately delivering successful outcomes. Adam continues to develop his industry knowledge through participation with the International Right of Way Association (IRWA) and International Association of Public Participation (IAP2).

Jenna Hamilton

Jenna Hamilton is a Project Director with significant experience on complex right of way projects in Canada and the United States. Jenna has been an integral member of Canacre’s team providing high-quality project support and making key contributions to the success of a variety of projects throughout our North American portfolio. Jenna has experience on multiple regulated right of way projects representing proponents of capital transmission, distribution, and pipeline projects. Jenna has established herself as a calm and confident leader capable of handling a diverse and complex workload, providing consistent and sound advice to her clients and project teams.

Jenna brings real time solutions for land acquisition strategy, regulatory filings, data management, project workflows, schedules, and budgets to the projects she leads, integrating right of way and environment services in an efficient manner on behalf of Canacre’s clients.

Brett Herzog, LREA

Brett Herzog has over 15 years of experience in land acquisition for the renewable energy, transmission, and oil and gas industries. His knowledge of the industry and strong work ethic has allowed him to excel at acquiring land, for a multitude of projects, ranging in type, size, and scope. Brett’s approach to stakeholder relationships and keen attention to project requirements has made him indispensable to projects which quickly move from development phases through to construction.

Brett has extensive experience in the project development process including the acquisition of leases, right-of-way agreements, wetland delineation, and access agreements for environmental, cultural, archaeological, and wildlife studies. With his ability to communicate effectively, Brett coordinates negotiations with landowners, local officials, concerned citizens and our client’s project development teams. His knowledge of numerous types of different projects, title, logistics, and real estate has made him an indispensable resource to our team and our clients as he works directly with our clients to strategize and obtain the necessary land rights for a successful project outcome.

Scott Lundberg

Based in North Dakota, Scott Lundberg has over 25 years experience in land acquisition and land management in various states across the United States. Scott is a North Dakota native and spent the majority of his career working in the region. Scott continues to provide land acquisition support for land and right of way projects in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin negotiating lease and easements, completing due diligence, running mineral and surface ownership title, curative, abstracts as well as finalizing drill site damage settlements.

Scott has worked throughout North Dakota extensively, and has negotiated with private and public landowners, state, and municipal entities across the northwestern region, with a focus on Burke, Divide, McKenzie, Morton, Mountrail, Renville, and Williams Counties. His organizational aptitude and focus on relationship building has enabled Scott to lead multiple large acquisition teams in the energy and right of way industries. Scott is a member of the International Right of Way Association (IRWA), and his experience provides him with a breadth of understanding of land systems across the United States.

Tanya Mayer

Tanya Mayer brings over 20 years of professional land administration and project management experience in multiple jurisdictions across Canada and the United States. Tanya has supported the successful completion of multiple 100+ tract right of way projects in both transmission and pipeline industries. This experience includes preparing acquisition agreements for execution to obtain the required land and access rights,  completing document review, title QA/QC, and coordinating with client and landowner legal representatives. Tanya has an expert understanding of Ontario and Alberta energy regulator frameworks and compliance requirements. Along with supporting on midstream and power divisions, Tanya has also acted in the role of project manager and lead land analyst on multiple upstream, transportation, and municipal projects within Alberta, Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. This experience has enabled Tanya to develop keen proficiency in all project requirements from survey review and permitting through to access acquisition of indigenous lands, freehold and Crown title lands and utility corridors.

Peggy McDermott

Peggy McDermott is an expert in title and land administration services with over 20 years in the industry. At Canacre, Peggy leads the title research, due diligence, and property data management process for our clients on major right-of-way and infrastructure projects. Peggy has extensive experience managing and digitizing a wide range and large volume of legal documentation. Under Peggy’s supervision, Canacre’s Land Administration Team works closely with our clients’ paralegals, attorneys, project developers, and other consultants to create, obtain, and deliver quality work products.

Peggy has considerable experience in a wide variety of industries and is responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate document management, creation, and population, as well as developing and managing the team’s workflows and QA/QC processes. Peggy’s experience provides her with a breadth of understanding of land systems across the United States.

Kimberly Nelson

Kimberly Nelson has over 20 years experience as a surface land professional holding Commissioner of Oaths certificate in Alberta. She works closely with team members to ensure projects get handled in a timely fashion and all aspects of the project are understood and are compliant with AER and CER regulatory requirements. Kimberly also has experience preparing crown (PLA) and freehold hold pipeline, access road, well site applications, land documentation, and third party permits and approvals.

Kimberly has acted as Lead Crossing Administrator on large pipeline projects such as the AOSPL Looping Stage 3 Project, Enbridge Alberta Clipper & Southern Lights, Air Products Canada Heartland Hydrogen Pipeline, Williams Energy (Canada), Inc. Boreal Pipeline, Plains Midstream Canada ULC RPII Project, Williams Energy (Canada), Inc Horizon Pipeline Project, Enbridge (Woodlands) Pipeline Project, Enbridge Athabasca Inc. (Norlite) Pipeline Project and TransMountain Pipeline Expansion Project.

Adam Russell

Adam Russell has over 10 years of experience in Negotiation Services and has been employed with Canacre since 2017. Adam develops acquisition strategies, prepares, and reviews compensation estimates, undertakes negotiations, executes agreements, and provides guidance and recommendations regarding property acquisitions. Adam has experience working on major right-of-way projects throughout Canada, including work for major transportation, pipeline, and transmission utilities.

Adam is a key negotiator on a variety of major infrastructure projects; Adam reviews and ensures an understanding of all property related documentation, including appraisals, reference plans, expropriation notices and environmental studies. Adam has met with various stakeholders on our client’s behalf to discuss the property requirements with landowners over multiple different interest types (temporary easement, fee simple, permission to enter), clearly explaining the property acquisition process and explaining to them their rights under the applicable regulatory process related to land takings.

Ryan Siersma, RPP, MCIP

Ryan Siersma is a Project Director with experience in renewable energy and transmission projects in the United States and Canada. Ryan has overseen land acquisition efforts on many projects ranging from small scale solar and battery storage to utility scale wind and solar campaigns. He works with his clients to secure land that makes sense for project feasibility and construction. Ryan has successfully led projects which have secured thousands of acres of solar and wind agreements.

As a Registered Professional Planner, Ryan also understands local permitting constraints and can help manage the municipal and environmental permitting as well as community engagement portion of projects. Ryan has led large scale local permitting exercises across regions to help clients understand where to potentially site projects to limit permitting risk. He also has experience in the development approval process, helping clients navigate planning policy and local zoning/ordinance to apply for and obtain permits for projects. Ryan has a straightforward approach to project management which includes transparent, efficient, project updates and reporting providing our clients and project teams the information they need to move towards their objectives.

Kevin Singh, D.GIS, CSM

Kevin Singh is an integral part of Canacre’s Project Management Team. In his role of Project Director, he manages and supports infrastructure development projects across North America. He is an experienced professional with over 10 years working experience in project and land management, GIS and geomatics, database design, and software development. As Canacre’s Project Director, Kevin has managed multiple projects throughout Canada and the United States, and has proved to be a significant asset to both Canacre and our clients through meticulous budget and milestone management. Kevin actively worked on and managed major rail corridor projects and their property datasets, renewable energy developments, and right of way capital projects. Kevin’s combined experience provides him a unique perspective, combining the skills and expertise of information technology (development, programming, and security), GIS (spatial analysis, geomatics, and mapping) and infrastructure development to acutely lead our clients through early stage and pre construction project phases.

Andrew Tees

Andrew Tees is a skilled negotiator with over 10 years of involvement in land matters across North America having successfully negotiated 500+ agreements during his time at Canacre. Andrew has supported numerous major infrastructure projects including work in the transportation, renewable energy, energy storage, telecom, and right of way industries.

Andrew has gained valuable project experience throughout this work, including working with landowners who were not receptive to the requested property requirements, were concerned about the impact of the project on their business viability, and disagreed with the proposed appraisal valuation of their properties. Andrew believes developing an informed relationship with landowners is critical to ultimate project success. Being an excellent communicator, creative problem solver and industry leader, Andrew routinely works to form landowner understanding of construction methods and the long-term implications of the taking on their property.

Curtis Wells

Curtis Wells has many years of experience in land acquisition across numerous states which include Pennsylvania, West Virginia, New York, Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois. Curtis is a well-rounded acquisition agent who has successfully secured a variety of agreements for the renewable energy, transmission, and oil and gas industries, including solar and wind agreements, top leases, wetland mitigation, construction easements, laydown yard agreements, rights of entry, and transmission line easements. Curtis has been responsible for securing thousands of acres of land across the central and eastern United States. Curtis has performed extensive heirship work while completing affidavits of identity, affidavits of heirship, gathering probate records and subordination agreements. Curtis helps lead Canacre’s Land Team on the ground, working directly with our clients to develop land acquisition strategies that support the smooth delivery of services and the acquisition of target land.

Deb Zufelt, ILCO

Deb Zufelt joined Canacre in 2015 after having gained valuable experience in public and private infrastructure sectors. In her role on the Project Services Team, she works directly with client paralegals, attorneys, project developers, and other consultants to provide accurate and efficient land, permitting and regulatory services. In addition, she provides leadership to Project Services team members, and maintains the QA/QC standards on land administration, permitting and regulatory deliverables. Deb's expertise crosses multiple jurisdictions within the United States and Canada, and she oversees file management systems and trust account reporting for several of Canacre’s clients. Deb holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies in Urban Planning with a specialization in Environmental Planning and Management and an Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario (ILCO) Associate Certificate.

Darnell G. McCurdy, RWA, PMP

Darnell G. McCurdy, Senior Director of Project Execution, is a seasoned professional with over four decades of experience in environment and land management within the transmission, pipeline, and real estate industries. His leadership style is characterized by a collaborative and process-oriented approach, which has consistently achieved client results in an environmentally responsible manner. McCurdy's technical acumen is multifaceted. He has a comprehensive understanding of federal and provincial/state lands and water legislation, acts, and regulations, and is proficient in applying departmental policies and procedures. His expertise in resource and land management spans consultation, planning, execution, reporting, and administrative tasks. He is also adept at contract negotiations for federal and fee simple land acquisitions and divestitures. Darnell McCurdy holds a Diploma in Forest Technology from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. His professional development includes an IRWA Certification as a Right of Way Agent (RWA), a Project Management Certificate from Mount Royal University, and the completion of the Executive Development Program at Queen's University, among others. McCurdy's professional history includes roles as Director – Land/Environment/Fleet and ESG at Civeo Canada Limited Partnership and Manager – Land & ROW Canada – Projects and Preventative Maintenance Digs at Enbridge Pipelines Inc. In these roles, he provided expertise for regulatory and legal matters, conducted land due diligence reviews for proposed asset acquisitions, and developed positive landowner relations, among other responsibilities.

Environment

Scott Bingham, B.Sc.

Scott Bingham is an Environmental Planner and Project Manager with 6 years of experience supporting clients in the energy sector throughout Western Canada with a focus on linear development projects. Scott’s strengths include project management, coordinating field assessments, directing internal and subconsultant teams, and report writing. Scott has coordinated and managed numerous projects through the different stages of construction, including pre-construction routing, filing for regulatory approval, and overseeing the construction support and post-construction phases.

Scott's regulatory experience includes the preparation of Conservation and Reclamation Reports for approval under the Alberta Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act (EPEA), applying for permitting under the BC Oil & Gas Commission (BCOGC), and developing Environmental Protection Plans (EPPs) for our energy clients.

Rebecca Brough, AScT

Rebecca Brough is an Environmental Director with over 15 years experience developing and implementing Environmental Management Systems. Rebecca’s experience includes managing two hydro electric dams, multiple major transmission projects, and associated substations. Rebecca is responsible for managing and directing department staff to support environmental compliance. Rebecca's skill includes development and implementation of Environmental Management Systems, environmental protection and management plans, environmental permitting, construction mitigation planning, proposals/cost estimates/budgeting and environmental incident investigations and reporting.

Kevin Slates, B.Sc.

With over 30 years of experience as a biologist/ecologist and more than 10 years serving as a Project Manager, Kevin Slates brings a wealth of expertise and a diverse background to the field. Throughout his career, Kevin has provided environmental project management and support to clients in various sectors, including transmission, rail, pipeline, and transportation. His skills encompass a wide range of environmental compliance tasks, including threatened and endangered species surveys, wetland delineations, and general project-related environmental compliance oversight. He is proficient in project estimation and planning, technical report writing, GIS mapping, and data interpretation.

During his tenure, Kevin has successfully managed numerous projects, demonstrating his ability to effectively lead teams and ensure the timely completion of deliverables. He has a strong understanding of NEPA/Section 404 documentation and permitting processes, along with expertise in coordinating with regulatory agencies and conducting agency consultations. Kevin's expertise also extends to GIS mapping and analysis, which he has utilized to provide valuable insights and support decision-making processes in environmental projects. His experience in project estimation and planning has allowed him to develop accurate cost estimates and realistic project schedules. Throughout his career, Kevin has consistently demonstrated a commitment to environmental excellence and sustainable solutions. His passion for conservation and his extensive knowledge of the field make him a valuable asset in promoting environmental stewardship. With his wealth of experience and proven track record, Kevin Slates is a valuable addition to the Canacre team. Mark Ford, B.App.Sc, RT Ag.

Mark Ford is an Environmental Manager with over 13 years of experience. Mark has experience managing large Oil & Gas portfolios in Alberta and working with Provincial and Federal Regulatory Agencies. Since 2019 Mark has been Environmental Manager on Major Transmission Line Projects responsible for providing sound, professional advice, and resources to support environmental and regulatory compliance. He is also responsible for ensuring regular and effective communications among construction teams to support successful overall project execution.

Julie Greenwood, Ph.D, MA

Dr. Julie Greenwood is an Environmental Planner specializing in Indigenous regulatory and socio-economic assessment. With a decade of professional consulting experience, Julie excels in coordinating assessments, analyzing socio-economic impacts, and evaluating effects on Indigenous rights and interests to obtain environmental approvals. Her expertise extends to federal and provincial environmental assessment processes in Canada, where she maintains a comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements. Julie's interests lie in enhancing social and Indigenous impact assessment processes, working with Indigenous groups to reflect their interests in the regulatory process, and cumulative effects assessment.

As an Indigenous engagement and socio-economic specialist, Julie has prepared assessments for projects across British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Yukon, and the Northwest Territories. She has worked closely with clients to develop regulatory strategy, Indigenous and stakeholder engagement plans, and methods for the assessment of socio-economic elements. Julie’s teaching experiences at the high school and university level and experience facilitating workshops with Indigenous groups, stakeholders and government organizations have helped shape her understanding of the importance of relationship building, inclusiveness and mutual respect and understanding. Dr. Julie Greenwood's expertise, coupled with her commitment to Indigenous engagement and socio-economic assessment, will contribute to the success of Canacre's projects while fostering positive relationships with Indigenous groups and stakeholders.

Ginger Horn, CFM, CPESC, ISA, PWS

Ginger Horn is an Environmental Director at Canacre with over 34 years of professional experience in the field of environmental natural resource planning. Ginger has worked extensively on various types of environmental assessments and obligations and management plans for environmental and regulatory compliance. She brings with her an expertise in environmental studies and permits in addition to her experience drafting and reviewing statements, assessments, exclusions, and plans. Ginger has extensive experience reviewing and authoring, Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), Environmental Assessments (EA), Categorical Exclusion (CE), Environmental Site Assessments (ESA), Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), Wetland Mitigation Plans, Tree Mitigation Plans, NEPA documents, and USACE Permits including 404. She Ginger has supported numerous infrastructure projects in both the private and public sectors across North America. Ginger is a Certified Floodplain Manager, Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control, Certified Arborist, and Professional Wetland Scientist.

Bryan Wright, B.Sc.

Bryan Wright a Project Environmental Manager with over 10 years experience working in environmental compliance, permitting, project management, field program execution and building / managing data collection programs across Canada in the energy sector. Bryan is skilled at assessing and mitigating environmental risks while maintaining construction schedules and environmental compliance.

Betsy Kruk, MS

Betsy Kruk has over 15 years of professional experience in all aspects of paleontology across the western United States and Canada, including 6 years of mitigation experience in California, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, and Nebraska. Betsy has successfully managed several large-scale and multi-year paleontological projects, including surveys, fossil salvages, and background research. She has experience with project management, paleontological assessments, surveying monitoring, fossil salvage, fieldwork, proposals, record searches, report writing, and data management. Betsy has been essential to the successful implementation of paleontological mitigation measures for several Bureau of Land Management projects. She has supported Department of Transportation, major utilities, including PacifiCorp, Southern California Edison, and Pacific Gas & Electric, and federal, private, and local agencies in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, and other laws and regulations governing paleontological resources.

Colin Piggot, B.Sc., P.Biol.

Colin Piggot is an environmental professional with over 13 years of consulting experience, working primarily on linear development projects in Western Canada. Colin has managed a number of provincially and federally regulated pipeline projects throughout Western Canada and is experienced with all phases of pipeline development, including routing, site assessment, regulatory approvals, permitting, construction, reclamation, decommissioning, and abandonment.

Colin manages a diverse technical team to deliver pragmatic solutions to clients’ biggest environmental challenges. His expertise includes leading complex environmental projects by guiding clients through the regulatory approval process and providing environmental support services throughout construction. Colin is experienced with obtaining permits and approvals for pipeline projects regulated by the Canada Energy Regulator, Alberta Energy Regulatory, Alberta Environment and Parks, and Alberta Utilities Commission. He has permitted a large number of Class I and II pipeline projects, including supporting land and construction related permitting, as well as approvals under the Alberta Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act. Colin also has experience overseeing Industrial Approval Applications for facility applications in Alberta. Colin is an active member of the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists.

Glenda Prudom, M.Sc.

Glenda Prudom, an Environment, Regulatory, and Stakeholder Engagement Specialist based in Ontario, demonstrates a deep understanding of the multifaceted challenges within the infrastructure development industry. With a Master's degree in Physical Geography from the University of Guelph, Glenda has navigated her career through key roles in respected organizations across government, electricity transmission, and oil and gas industries. In these capacities, she managed expansive projects with a focus on environmental parameters, regulatory compliance, and the integration of sustainability principles. Furthermore, her advocacy for process improvement led to the identification of significant project efficiencies and consequential cost savings as well as industry awards in project execution.

The Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce SHE Award for Health, Safety, and Environment Leadership is a testament to her dedication and expertise in her field. As a certified ISO 14001: 2015 Auditor, Glenda's area of expertise includes refining operational processes, leading HSE investigations, and applying root cause analysis methodologies. A prominent aspect of her professional experience is her skill in stakeholder and indigenous engagement, where she employs strategic communication and detailed planning to guide projects to their desired outcomes. With a blend of her academic background and practical experiences, Glenda Prudom is a valuable asset to the environmental and regulatory sectors as well as Canacre and our partners in the execution of infrastructure projects throughout North America.

Buck Santistevan, MA

Buck Santistevan has more than 20 years of experience in the environmental and cultural resources management and compliance fields on a broad range of projects across North America, South America, and East Africa. Buck is an SOI qualified archaeologist with a master’s degree in anthropology whose work is driven by a passion for mentoring the next generation of environmental professionals and centering environmental justice in everything they do.

Elizabeth Allan

Elizabeth Allan is a geospatial expert with over 10 years of experience in GIS, focused on supporting the Environmental team at Canacre but experienced with other business groups in the industry. Liz has extensive experience with creating information via report maps, online mapping/dashboards, digital data collection for field teams and spatial analysis. Liz continues to excel and grow her knowledge, keeping up with technology and applying best practices related to GIS to produce top quality deliverables. Her experience includes working on projects all over North America, including oil and gas pipelines, facilities, wind and solar, infrastructure and remediation sites. Liz is passionate about developing more online tools to help our project team review, consume and create information to help our clients meet their objectives. Using current technology in a meaningful way will enhance our services to our clients and regulator.

Duncan Bell

Duncan Bell has over 20 years of experience as a software developer and has expertise in GIS, web-based software development, and agile software development. Duncan joined Canacre in 2018 as a key contributing member of our Mapbase development team to collaborate on the development of new software capabilities and provide support to internal and external users. Duncan has participated as a primary or principal developer in the successful release of several flagship enterprise stakeholder and GIS applications widely used throughout the energy and transportation sectors. These projects have supported millions of different database entities spanning tabular and spatial records across Canada and the United States, and are used by several companies in the energy sector to manage landowner, emergency response, and property information along various assets.

Allison Charenko

As Canacre’s Director of GIS Services, Allison Charenko has been an integral member of the GIS Department since 2010 and has led Canacre’s GIS and Data teams on a diverse range of GIS, analysis, and mapping projects, including extensive digitization, the development of advanced QA/QC strategies, and the mapping and routing of major right of way infrastructure projects. She is responsible for managing the team’s ongoing workflow and QA/QC processes for all data creation and digitization sourced from reference plans, survey drawings, and aerial imagery within an ArcGIS environment. In addition, Allison leads services related to aerial imagery interpretation, visual simulations, topology analysis, design, and the management of Canacre’s property information database. Allison is in constant communication with Canacre’s clients and ensures that projects are completed with a high degree of precision, are on budget, and are on time. Allison holds degrees in Environmental Sciences, Geographic Information Systems, and Geospatial Management.

Angela Koopman

Angela Koopman joined Canacre in August 2015 and led the establishment of Canacre’s project controls team from onset. Angela specializes in deploying strategies to Canacre’s Project Controls team to provide high quality delivery of project scheduling, financial reporting, change management, and resourcing requirements for our partners. She has wide-ranging experience across Canacre’s services, including project management for acquisitions, consultation, and technical services in industries including renewable energy generation, energy storage, public infrastructure, and right of way.

Eleni Koukidis

Eleni Koukidis is a project planning expert with over 10 years of experience in the infrastructure industry. Eleni is focused on developing and maintaining business relationships with partners and clients, seeking value-add opportunities, and managing initiation on the projects that are driving the energy transition forward and connecting communities. With over a decade of experience in the infrastructure development and construction industry, Eleni manages the project initiation by creating and communicating solutions for our partners tailored to project needs within the energy, transportation, telecom, and real-estate sectors across Canada and the United States. Eleni uses her experience and adept leadership skills to empower her team to collaborate with clients, internal subject matter experts, Quanta affiliates, and industry partners to develop industry leading service solutions for our clients.

Siew Law

Siew Law is an expert GIS Analyst with over 10 years of experience in both environment and government sectors. Able to work in a fast-paced environment providing GIS support for high profile clients, Siew has experience as a GIS lead for solar, remediation, municipal, oil and gas, and transmission projects throughout North America. Combining spatial collection and analysis technologies to understand the built and natural environment has enabled Siew to develop tools to understand lithology and groundwater, chemical contaminants and remediation, wildlife habitats, and the impacts of invasive species on the forestry industry. Siew routinely collaborates with Project Managers, scientists, engineers, and various disciplines to understand GIS needs, budget, and project timelines.

Christine Maggs

Christine Maggs has over 10 years experience in project management and coordination, providing controls on large-scale right-of-way and environment projects in Canada and the United States. She has significant knowledge in developing project execution strategies and managing the corresponding complex reporting requirements. Christine is an integral part of the project controls team and has a proven track record of providing successful services within the transmission, pipeline, transportation, and renewable energy sectors. Her expertise in enterprise resource planning, understanding of financial reporting requirements, and leadership on the team translates into efficient, value-added service for our partners and clients.

Kean O’Shea

Kean is a Senior Software Developer with over 19 years of experience designing information technology solutions. Kean has focused his development expertise on database design and administration and integration with GIS. Throughout his career, Kean has led web mapping software design, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement. As GIS specialist, Kean has worked on production mapping project management, GIS/IT capacity management, data governance, senior mapping QA/QC, production mapping and services delivery, Enterprise geodatabase implementation, and ArcGIS Enterprise implementation and support.
